Birds are nature’s superheroes. They act as gardeners that plant trees, as pest controllers that eat pesky bugs, and as health inspectors that tell us if our local lakes and forests are doing well. There are approximately 300 species of breeding birds in Eastern Ontario. The biggest bird is the bald eagle, and the smallest is the calliope hummingbird. Learn more about the wonderful world of birds by listening to bird calls, feeling feathers and examining nests. [Location: Combined Programming Room No. 1 and 2, Cornwall Public Library]
